Tuesday, August 12th , 2025
He may have less experience than most of his Canadian Wood Bat Summer League peers, but that didn't slow Alejandro Vizcaino down at all in 2025.
At the age of 23, the Hamilton shortstop has been named the winner of the Canadian Wood Bat Summer League Most Valuable Player Award.
He had a .302 batting average and a .391 on-base percentage this year. In 27 games he piled up 29 hits, 3 doubles, no triples, 15 home runs, 27 RBIs and 19 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 4 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Jeff Galvin of the Mississaugua Muskies finished second in voting, while Norihito Honda of the Hamilton SteelHawks finished third.
