Flames Rally to Nose Past Northern California
The Arizona Tech Flames, with some walk-off drama, delighted their fans at Arizona Tech Grounds.

The Arizona Tech Flames wiggled past the Northern California Redwoods, 5-4, at Arizona Tech Grounds. The win was highlighted by the performance of Arizona Tech pitcher Cory Denny. The win went to Mike Thomas in relief. His record improves to 5-0. Steve Shafer took the loss.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 11th inning, when Arizona Tech shortstop Jeremy Jordan, facing Steve Shafer, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Flames the 5-4 win.

"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Arizona Tech field general T Fence.

The Redwoods, now 14-27, have lost 5 in a row.
