Bucks Turn Away Tortugas, 4-2
The Blue Ridge State Bucks got a marvelous performance from pitcher Steve Mendoza. The right-hander kept the Key West State offense from ever getting much traction. The result was an impressive 4-2 Blue Ridge State victory at Golden Hawks Park. Blue Ridge State pitcher Sean Malott got the win. He's now 4-0. Steve Garcia was tagged with the loss. Amazzia Ben-Mizzah earned his 3rd save, after closing out the game.

The Bucks got a big at-bat from center fielder Tony Jackson. For the game, Jackson was 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 7th home run of the season gave Blue Ridge State a 2-1 lead.

"I just tried to attack the bottom of the zone," Mendoza said.

The win gives Blue Ridge State a season record of 30-16.
