Another day, another victory for the red-hot Hawai'i State Mighty Io.

The Hawai'i State Mighty Io picked up a win at Hawai'i State Grounds, topping the Key West State Tortugas, 4-2. On the mound for Hawai'i State was right-hander Erik Monroe. He played a principal role in the triumph. Monroe picked up the win for Hawai'i State, going 6.1 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 5-0.

Greg Frank had a big run-scoring double for the Mighty Io in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Hawai'i State leading 3-2 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a slider from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Steve Garcia and swatted a double to left. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mighty Io ahead, 4-2.

"It never gets old," said Monroe. "Winning, that is."

With the win, Hawai'i State pushed its record to 20-6.
