Ferlin's Strong Week Earns PIO Trophy Monday, August 31st , 2043 Dan Ferlin must have thought he was dreaming. First he went on an exceptional week-long batting spree, bashing the ball at a .519 clip, then the Fresno second baseman finds out he has been chosen the league's best performer and gets the PIO Player of the Week Award. He told BNN reporters in the postgame, "It was a great week for me. I could see the ball so well. Plus some of the balls seemed to have good eyes, too." For the week Ferlin batted .519 (14-for-27) with 1 home run and 8 RBIs. So far this year, Ferlin is hitting .356 with 5 home runs. |
