McCaffrey Hit Streak Reaches 20 Games Sunday, July 26th , 2043 Win or lose, Chris McCaffrey just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 1 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 20 games. The Bluefield Blue Jays second baseman went 1-for-3, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated, 5-4, by the Danville Braves at American Legion Field. "It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Chris McCaffrey grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, was hit by a pitch in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and walked in the 9th. McCaffrey currently has a .323 batting average with 31 hits, 2 homers, 8 RBIs, 7 runs scored and a .414 OBP. |
