Rhoads Gets 5 Hits
Saturday, July 23rd , 2044
The Hillsboro Hops stopped the Everett AquaSox by a score of 7-6 at Everett Memorial Stadium, with the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder Tim Rhoads. The 20-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Rhoads said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Rhoads did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the AquaSox.
"Not much that I can say," offered Everett manager Raynor Campbell. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Tim Rhoads singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 7th, hit a two-run home run off Dave Salgado in the 9th and singled in the 11th.
So far this year, Rhoads has 4 home runs and a .250 batting average.
