Ellis Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games Wednesday, August 19th , 2043 Jose Ellis continued his streak at Bishops Ballpark, even as the ballgame did not go his way. The Stockton center fielder was 1-for-3 in today's contest and now has hit safely in his last 20 games. The Ports were not as fortunate, losing, 6-1, to the Tucson Bishops. "Ellis was hitting everything we threw at him," said Tucson manager Kevin Nelson. "He is a tough out. Fortunately, things went our way in the ballgame and we came away with a win." Jose Ellis flied out in the 2nd, struck out in the 5th and doubled in the 7th. For the year, Ellis is batting .259 with 9 home runs. |
