Red Sox Lose, 6-2, as Tigers Rally
Mike Dammann helped his team muscle past the Boston Red Sox, 6-2. In the game, the Detroit right fielder was 3 for 4 with 2 doubles. He drove in 4 runs. Jamie Parrish came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-1. The triumph makes Detroit 14-10, as the team begins another long trek toward the playoffs in 2044.

Had Dammann not come through in the top of the eighth, who knows how the game would've ended? But with two down, Dammann hit a 2-run single. The Tigers took the lead, 4-2, and never looked back.

"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Detroit skipper Joshua Smith.
