The Oakland Athletics got a superb performance from pitcher Huub van Wordragen, but the Minnesota Twins still won the game, 3-2. van Wordragen threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Reliever Ashley Braeman picked up the win. His record improves to 1-1. Josh Adams took the loss. Dan Lenart closed the game out for Minnesota, earning his 2nd save.

Minnesota used the timely hitting of D.J. Levy to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Twins on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We came in and did what we needed to do," said Minnesota manager Daniel Smith.

The Twins, with just their 6th win in 22 games, have played uninspired baseball so far.
