Detroit and Texas duked it out and the Tigers came out victorious.

The Detroit Tigers downed the Texas Rangers, 9-6, at Comerica Park. The Tigers were led by Sean Barksdale. Barksdale went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs. Picking up the win was Angel Sauceda. He went 5.1 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits. The left--hander struck out 7 and walked 0. The save went to Raul Galindo, his 2nd this season.

Early in the game, designated hitter Mike Justesen had a 3-run home run for Detroit. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Tigers on top, 3-0.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Justesen said.

The Tigers raised their record to 3-0.
