Trenton Shut Out, 7-0, By Flying Squirrels, Grim
|
In a seemingly effortless performance, Tim Grim of the Richmond Flying Squirrels shot down the Trenton Thunder, 7-0, on 3 hits.
"Tim was just locating so well and using his pitches," Richmond manager Brian Barton said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Grim recorded 6 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Trenton manager Victor Estevez said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
This season, Grim has a 2-5 mark in 9 starts with a 4.57 ERA. He has given up 67 hits in 61 innings, struck out 46 and issued 26 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .289 batting average against him.
