Leary Rips Salt Lake for 5 Hits
A jubilant Chris Leary joined the postgame press conference at Greater Nevada Field to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Salt Lake Bees pitching staff he had just vanquished.

"It may not have looked like it," said the Reno Aces shortstop, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different."

That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-7 hitting performance, which led to the 11-10 Aces win.

"He made it look easy," said Jordan Pacheco, manager of the Bees. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously."

Chris Leary singled in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, struck out in the 8th, singled in the 11th and hit an RBI single in the 13th.

Leary is hitting .390 this season with no home runs, 9 RBIs and 10 runs scored. He has 23 hits in 59 at-bats.
