Giants Edge Dodgers, 2-1
|
Mike Harris brought his A-game to help San Francisco defeat the Los Angeles (N) Dodgers, 2-1. In 7 innings, Harris surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 8 and walking 1. He allowed 1 run. The save went to Jon Shores, number 26 for him.
With scoring opportunities rare, the Giants had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the sixth, when first baseman Victor Mata hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Matthew Kay and made the score 2-1, Giants. Mata went 1-3.
"I was a little disappointed," said Los Angeles (N) manager Philip Pryor. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
At 57-91, the Giants are currently last in the National League West Division.
