Los Angeles (N) 2-0 Losers to Giants
|
Starting pitcher Edgar Burgos gave the San Francisco Giants a rock-solid performance, helping his team defeat the Los Angeles (N) Dodgers, 2-0, at Oracle Park. Jon Shores earned his 21st save in 24 chances. The win has San Francisco at 45-82.
Mike Whiteaker drove in one run for San Francisco. The 24-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Edgar Correa. It was his 70th RBI of the season.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Giants manager Branden M. "This one was nice to get."
