The Philadelphia Phillies used an offensive barrage to beat the New York (N) Mets, 10-2, at The Best Park in the World presented by PornHub. Kevin Whyte, who is tied for 4th in the NL with a .333 batting average, led the way, going 3-for-4 for Philadelphia. Jon Overton was credited with the save for Philadelphia, his 1st of the season. The first-place Phillies, at 82-41, lead the National League East Division by 15 games.

With Philadelphia leading 3-2 in the top of the fifth, Whyte batted against New York (N) pitcher Brad Bryant. Whyte hit a fastball to left-center for a 2-run double. His 37th double of the season put the Phillies on top, 5-2.

"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said Philadelphia skipper Keygan Hankins.
