Orioles Victors, 3-1, at Boston
|
The Baltimore Orioles faced a tough opponent in Boston pitcher Cameron Washington, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Fenway Park - Presented by Mass Mutual by a final score of 3-1. Washington went 6 innings and allowed 1 run. Baltimore reliever Caleb Johnston was the winner. His record is now 5-3. The losing pitcher was Bobby Rivera. The save went to Bob Roorda, number 20 for him.
Baltimore won the game in part because of C.J. Bratz. The first baseman ripped a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Orioles ahead, 3-1. For the game, Bratz had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.
"Every loss hurts," said Boston manager Matt Clements. "But this was a tough one."
The Orioles saw their record improve to 54-68.
