Cincinnati Reds starter Andy Twing was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Las Vegas Outlaws, 8-2. The winner was Twing. He threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Jon Troutman. Cincinnati occupies first place in the National League South Division at 67-50.

The Outlaws had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the Reds going into the bottom of the seventh inning. That changed quickly when the 24-year old left fielder Ray Desjardins came to the plate. Desjardins hit a 2-run double on a first pitch fastball from Las Vegas hurler Jon Troutman. It was Desjardins's 12th double of the year.

"It was a solid team effort," said Twing after the game.
