Colorado pitcher Phil Brown did his part in helping his team defeat the New York (N) Mets, 4-1. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. Colorado reliever A.J. Saxon picked up the win, upping his record to 9-3. Elijah Jones was saddled with the loss. The Rockies have now won 5 straight.

Colorado used the clutch hitting of Jerry Jackson to snag the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rockies ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

"We've got a great group of guys," Jackson said, "and we're having fun right now."
