Plein Hits Two Homers in 6-4 Win for Seattle
|
Seattle center fielder Chris Plein made his presence felt in the 6-4 Mariners triumph over the New York (N) Mets. Plein slugged 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice. Jimmy Roehling got the save, his 18th in 24 chances. The win puts Seattle at 43-64.
The game turned with no one out in the top of the fourth. That's when Plein hit a grand slam home run off Eric Henry. It propelled the Mariners into the lead, 6-2.
"Chris was ready to go. Big day for him," said Seattle manager Sam Smith.
