Angels Lose, 5-4, in 20
|
The Texas Rangers found a way to sneak past the Los Angeles (A) Angels, 5-4, in 20 innings. Texas designated hitter Chris Sanders, for one, had a standout performance. Mike Perry closed out the game, earning his 1st save. The Rangers move to 58-40 with the win, while the Angels drop to 53-44.
Texas used the timely hitting of Sandy Maciel to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 20th inning to put the Rangers on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"This kind of game is tough on the heart," said winning manager Hugo Halfygar.
