Rangers Victors, 5-0, at Los Angeles (A)
|
Texas Rangers pitcher Eric Catala was in fine form, leading his team past the Los Angeles (A) Angels, 5-0. With the win, the Rangers improved to 57-39.
The Angels had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Rangers going into the top of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old right-handed pitcher Jake Crouch came to the plate. Crouch hit a solo home run on a first pitch splitter from Los Angeles (A) hurler Tony Almeida. It was Crouch's 18th home run of the year.
"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Catala. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
