Twins Rocked By Guardians, 12-2
|
The Cleveland Guardians pasted the Minnesota Twins with a convincing 12-2 defeat at Target Field. Mike Gummel was a prime factor in the Cleveland win. He went 3-4 with a triple, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2. Cleveland is now 39-55, Minnesota 43-50.
Cleveland used the hitting of Bobby Soto to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a grand slam home run in the top of the third inning to put the Guardians on top, 4-0. For the game, Soto had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Minnesota manager Daniel Smith summed up his team's performance in one word: "Godawful."
