Hughes Leads Cincinnati Past Santo Domingo
The Cincinnati Reds got a stellar performance from pitcher Joel Hughes, who handcuffed the Santo Domingo offense en route to a win, 5-2, at Great Ohio Ball Park. The Reds improved their record to 45-43 by beating Santo Domingo.

Hughes, the winner, is now 4-2, after putting the clamps on the Santo Domingo offense. In 7 innings of work, he gave up 1 run on 2 hits, while collecting 8 Ks.

"Joel knows how to get ahead of hitters, stay ahead of hitters, and put people out," said Cincinnati manager Troy Smith.
