Red Sox Stymie Kansas City, Take 5-1 Win
|
Dan Rahn made an impact in the 5-1 Boston win over Kansas City. Rahn went 4-4 with a home run and 3 singles. Boston, now 39-40, holds down second place in the American League East Division.
Jim Webb dealt the Royals a blow in the bottom of the fifth. Batting with the bases loaded and Boston leading 2-1, Webb hit a 1-1 fastball for a 2-run single.
"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Red Sox manager Matt Clements, "I like our chances."
