Twins Beaten By Mariners, 10-2
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Minnesota Twins and Seattle Mariners get after it.
Behind an impressive start by Mike Brailey, Seattle beat Minnesota, 10-2. Brailey yielded 1 run over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 2 hits, walked 2, and struck out 7. His record improves to 4-2.
Dave Loveall had a big 2-run double for the Mariners in the bottom of the first inning. With Seattle leading 2-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a cutter from 30-year old right-handed pitcher Jeff Shapiro and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 4th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mariners ahead, 4-0.
"We take it day by day here," said Brailey, "and today was a good one for us."
The last-place Mariners now sit at 33-42.
