Rockies Better Brewers, 5-4
|
Milwaukee got a terrific game from third baseman Bob Bauman. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Colorado, 5-4. Bauman went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. A.J. Saxon earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings. His record is now 3-1. Chris Lipscomb earned his 1st save, after closing out the game.
With Colorado leading 4-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Shuncho Miyake hit a run-scoring single off Milwaukee pitcher Bobby Knopf. It put the Rockies ahead 5-2.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Milwaukee manager Joe Smith.
Colorado's winning streak has reached 4 games.
