Bendeman Belts 5 Hits
Tampa Bay (DSL) third baseman Maoz Bendeman went down swinging at Tampa Bay Rays Complex, knocking out 5 hits even as his Rays 1 fell, 5-3.

"It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Bendeman said after his 5-for-10 performance against the Houston (DSL) Astros. "No offense meant to Houston (DSL), but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well."

After the game, his manager elaborated on the third baseman's improvements, saying Bendeman spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball.

"That's what I'm trying to do," Bendeman agreed. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."

Maoz Bendeman grounded out in the 2nd, struck out in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 9th, doubled in the 11th, grounded out in the 14th, struck out in the 16th, doubled in the 19th, singled in the 21st and grounded out in the 22nd.

This season, Bendeman is hitting .270 with 17 hits, no home runs, 2 RBIs, scored 5 runs and played in 16 games.
