Victor Vazquez pitched a strong game at McCormick Field, blanking the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 1-0. Vazquez, who is tied for 6th in the SAL in complete games with 6, allowed no runs on 5 hits, totaled 4 strikeouts and gave up 5 walks.

Asheville manager Angel Santos said he could tell immediately it was going to be a good game for Vazquez.

"Right from the start, you could see how economical he was," Santos said. "He threw a lot of strikes."
