Red Sox pitcher Brad Evans left his mark on his team's 5-1 win over the Chicago (A) White Sox. Evans, who is tied for 4th in the AL in doubles with 10, threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for Boston in the contest. Evans, now 3-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. With the loss, Chicago (A) falls to 14-15.
Jose Salazar hit a 2-run triple off Doug Vess in the bottom of the second, which put the Red Sox in front, 2-0. Salazar had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 4.
"Brad is still learning," said Red Sox manager Matt Clements. "The sky's the limit for him."
