The Cleveland Indians powered past the Kansas City Royals, 10-4, at Kauffman Stadium. Jeff Kent provided some of the pop. He was 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. The Indians benefited from a costly error in the top of the fourth. With Mark Lemke at bat and Cleveland trailing 4-3, the Kansas City miscue allowed Cleveland to plate 2 and take the lead, 5-4.
