Brewers Win Nail-Biter
The Milwaukee Brewers had to overcome a big game from Houston second baseman Willie Greene to leave Milwaukee County Stadium with a victory. And they did, winning, 6-5. Greene was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. Steve Avery, who finished 2nd in the NL in ERA with 2.88 in 1993, picked up the win in relief. Jim Poole took the loss for Houston. The second-place Brewers now have a win-loss record of 67-63.

Milwaukee got a knockout punch from Bret Boone. The second baseman hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the 14th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.

"Feels good to get the job done," Boone said after the game.
