Astros Earn Late Win
|
The Houston Astros had to overcome a fine effort from Milwaukee pitcher Amaury Telemaco to win, 3-2, at Milwaukee County Stadium. Telemaco went 8 innings and allowed no runs. Johnny Ruffin claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record stands at 7-5. Houston is now 60-68.
Houston used the timely hitting of Adrian Brown to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Astros on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
Brown called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
