Red Wings Resilient in 7-6 Win Over Salt Lake
|
The Salt Lake Buzz could not turn a fine performance from catcher John Flaherty into a win. Instead, the Rochester Red Wings prevailed, 7-6, in 13 innings. Flaherty was 2-5 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Rochester is now 78-58, while Salt Lake is 102-34.
The Red Wings got a clutch hit from first baseman Randall Simon. In the bottom of the 13th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Red Wings.
"Our guys refused to lose," said Simon.
