|
The 7-5 Salt Lake win over Rochester was due largely to Pat Borders. The Buzz first baseman went 2 for 4 with a double and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Brad Rigby was the winner. Over 6 innings, he yielded 2 runs on 5 hits, with 1 walk and no strikeouts. Salt Lake is in first place in the American League Central Division with a record of 102-33.
Had Ricky Ledee not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Ledee hit a 2-run single. That made the score 4-2, in favor of the Buzz.
"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Salt Lake manager .
