Red Sox Buried - Out of Playoffs Monday, August 6th , 2040 Did anyone think the Salem Red Sox had a chance at the postseason this year? It was already quite unlikely, and now even the smallest hopes have been dashed -- the team was mathematically eliminated from postseason contention today. Salem last appeared in the postseason in 2034. This is their 6th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 14 times in their 18-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Red Sox have missed the playoffs 6 times. |
