Almaguer Sizzles in No-Hitter
Monday, September 15th , 2042
In a dominant outing, Zózimo Almaguer of the Arkansas Travelers totally silenced the bats of the Springfield Cardinals, finishing with a no-hitter.
In the 12-0 victory, Almaguer faced only 30 batters, surrendered no hits, had 14 strikeouts and 2 walks.
"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Arkansas manager said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."
Commenting on the defeat, losing manager had a "pretty simple" analysis of the game.
"The Travelers had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Almaguer pitched a heck of a ballgame."
For the year, Almaguer has 3 relief appearances and a 1-0 record with no saves. He has logged 21.2 innings and allowed 21 base hits. Opposing clubs have put up a .247 batting average against him. Almaguer has rung up 27 strikeouts, surrendered 3 walks and fashioned a 4.15 ERA.
