Gwinnett Takes Round 1 in Deciding Game Tuesday, October 2nd , 2040 The Gwinnett Stripers and Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp hooked up in a classic Round 1 that went right down to the wire. In the end, it's Gwinnett heading off to the Round 2, after a 9-8 win at 121 Financial Park tonight earned the 4-3 series win. Outside 121 Financial Park, whether they were supporters of Gwinnett or Jacksonville, many fans talked about how it was a series they would never forget. Randry Littlejohn played the hero for the Stripers in the series, as his MVP performance included a .321 batting average, with a .321 on-base percentage. He also had 3 home runs, 7 RBI and scored 5 runs. The Gwinnett Stripers will play against the Toledo Mud Hens in the next round. Toledo won their series against the Rochester Red Wings 4 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes. |
