Minnesota got a first-rate effort from pitcher Jorge Flores, who frustrated Cleveland hitters en route to a 2-1 Twins triumph at Target Field. Sam Pirk picked up the save for Minnesota, his 2nd of the year. With the win, Minnesota improves its record to 12-6.

In the bottom of the sixth, Minnesota first baseman Mike Salgado whacked a fastball to right-center for a 2-run double. His 1st double of the season put the Twins in front, 2-0.

"Every loss stings," said Cleveland manager Tigers Darmonater. "This one is no exception."
