Riding the 3-hit performance of the 23-year old first baseman Chad Blasingame, the Bay Area Athletics defeated the Texas Rangers, 4-2. For the Rangers, the loss makes their record 6-10.

Blasingame dealt the big blow in the bottom of the ninth. That's when he launched a 2-run home run off Texas pitcher Jon Norton to win it for the Athletics.

"We put together a nice win," Blasingame said.
