The California Angels topped the New York Yankees, 6-2, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim. California first baseman Etelson Persoa was a spark plug for the offense. He went 3-3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times. Thu Phong closed it out for his 1st save. The win puts California at 3-2.
Alfredo Robles contributed to the California win with a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the shortstop had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 1 RBI.
