Garces Hurls No-Hitter Against SeaWolves
The Richmond Flying Squirrels were just hoping for a solid outing from Guadalupe Garces. Instead, they got something special.

The 26-year-old hurler tossed a no-hitter against the Erie SeaWolves, helping the Flying Squirrels take the 5-0 win.

"I felt good throughout the game," he said after his spectacular outing for the Flying Squirrels. "As I was going into the ninth inning, I wasn't nervous. I knew I had a chance to do something special."

Garces's repertoire has a slider, curveball, changeup, fastball, and sinker, and he used it all to full advantage, keeping the Erie hitters off balance all game long. The Richmond hurler fanned 10 and walked 2 in his history-making performance.

"His slider looked about the size of a watermelon seed and it hissed at you as it passed," Erie manager joked after the game.
