The Houston Astros got a superb performance from pitcher Alejandro Abundiz, but the Texas Rangers still won the game, 4-3. Abundiz threw 7.1 innings of 6-hit ball. The win was credited to Zion Poullard in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Mike Bittner took the loss. Texas is now 50-42, Houston 41-52.

The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Zion Malveaux came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Houston pitcher Mike Bittner, he hit a 1-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Texas on top, 4-3.

Malveaux told a Texas Times reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
