Padres Win, 4-1, Versus Brewers
|
Starting pitcher Billy Noelle was a major factor in the 4-1 San Diego Padres triumph over the Milwaukee Brewers. In 7 innings, Noelle surrendered 7 hits, while striking out 7 and walking 0. He allowed 1 run. Germão Fris earned his 13th save in 18 chances.
Juan Trujillo had a big 2-run double for the Padres in the bottom of the sixth inning. With San Diego leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a splitter from Jorge Valadez, who is tied for 5th in the NL in holds with 7, and swatted a double to center. It was his 13th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Padres ahead, 4-1.
"Billy made his pitches," said San Diego manager San Diego GM.
San Diego, at 47-33, sits in second place in the National League West Division.
