Yankees Suffer One-Run Loss at California
Angel Stadium of Anaheim was the site of an exciting ballgame between the California Angels and New York Yankees.

Sean Sandoval was a major factor in the 7-6 California win over New York. The Angels designated hitter went 4-4 with 4 singles. The winner was Jeremy Saucier in relief. His record improves to 1-0. C.J. Knodel took the loss.

Had Michael Mullinax not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Mullinax hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Angels.

"We got the victory," said Sandoval. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."

The win makes California 24-30.
