7 Straight Wins for Mets
|
The New York Mets topped the New York Yankees, 7-3, in National League action at Citi Field. The game was highlighted by the performance of New York pitcher Mike Lorello. Juan Olivas snagged the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit over 2.2 innings. He's now 1-0 on the season. The second-place Mets have won 7 straight games.
New York took a 4-3 lead on Tye Bywaters's 1st triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which Bywaters hit in the bottom of the eighth, left New York pitcher Sean Barnes visibly frustrated.
"I like how we're playing right now," said Lorello.
