Guardians Get 6th Straight Win with Late Rally
The Bay Area Athletics could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Luke Hockenberry into a win. Instead, the Cleveland Guardians prevailed, 9-6. Hockenberry threw 6.0 innings allowing 4 runs. Cleveland reliever Juan Estrada picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. David Talamantes absorbed the loss. The Guardians raised their record to 17-14.

Eric Boggs came through with a big-time hit for Cleveland. The third baseman smacked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 9-6. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Tigers Darmonater.
