Riding the 2-hit performance of the four-time All-Star Randy Hickman, the New York Mets stopped the Cincinnati Reds, 4-2, in 9 innings. Willie Bryant earned the save for New York, his 26th. Their 56-74 record puts the Mets 5th in the American League Northeast Division.
