Postseason Bid Ends for Oakland Wednesday, September 11th , 2019 Fans in Oakland may been holding onto a glimmer of hope, but that has now been officially snuffed out -- the Athletics were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention today. "It's a tough day for everyone in the Oakland Athletics organization," owner Jason Clark told reporters. "We will just have to come back stronger." This is the club's 6th playoff miss in a row. They last appeared in the postseason in 2013. In total, the Athletics have missed the playoffs 119 times in their 149-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Athletics have missed the playoffs 5 times. Oakland has won the World Series 9 times in their history. |
