The New York Yankees pitcher hurled a 2-hit, 11-0 shutout in a fine performance, surrendering 1 walk and tallying 10 strikeouts. "Jacob is good at getting out of jams," Yankees manager told reporters after the game. "He's almost more effective when he gets guys on base or gets behind in the count, because he uses your aggressiveness against you." So far this year, deGrom has made 27 starts, tossed 164 innings, struck out 184 batters and walked 62. His record is 7-10 with a 4.17 ERA and he has limited opposing teams to a .220 batting average.
